CortexDots is the metering system for Cortex-powered AI. One server pays one monthly price — every member of that server can use the AI channel without individual accounts.
How dots work
- 1 Dot = 1,000 tokens (a token ≈ ¾ of a word; a typical Q&A costs 1 dot)
- Your server has a dot balance
- Every AI reply deducts the dots it consumed (minimum 1)
- When the balance hits zero, AI replies stop until next refill or a top-up
Monthly refills
On the first day of each month, subscribed servers get:
- Their monthly plan amount (default: 300 dots)
- A bonus: +50 dots for each owner/admin of your server who is a member of the Cortex HQ support server — two admins in the support server = +100 bonus
Leftover dots from last month are wiped at refill — the balance resets fresh.
💡 Tip
Keep your owner and admins in the support server. It's free bonus dots every single month, and you'll see announcements about outages and new features there too.
Subscribing
Contact Cortex HQ through the support server to subscribe — pricing is posted with the current plan amount. Payment is arranged directly with the team, then your server gets flagged as subscribed and dots appear automatically.
Checking usage

Unlimited mode
Some partner servers have unlimited mode — no deductions at all. Ask the team if your community qualifies.
