Spotify, YouTube and SoundCloud playback with queue, filters and 24/7 mode.
Features·~1 min read
Cortex plays music in voice channels with a full queue system.
Quick start
code
/play never gonna give you up
Join any voice channel and run /play with a search term, YouTube URL, Spotify link or SoundCloud URL. Cortex resolves it and starts playing.
Core commands
| Command | Action |
|---|---|
/play <query> | Add a track or playlist to the queue |
/skip | Skip current track |
/queue | Show the upcoming queue |
/pause / /resume | Playback control |
/volume <0-150> | Adjust volume |
/loop track|queue | Repeat |
/shuffle | Randomize the queue |
/seek <time> | Jump to a position |
/nowplaying | What's currently playing |
24/7 mode
code
/247 enable
Keeps the bot connected to your voice channel around the clock — popular for chill/grind communities. The bot survives restarts and reconnects automatically.
Request channel
code
/setup-music-request
Pick a channel and members just drop song titles/URLs into it — Cortex adds them to the queue automatically. No commands needed, perfect for non-technical members who just want to shout songs at a channel.
Notes
- Audio is streamed through Cortex HQ's own Lavalink node — no lag from hosting it yourself.
- Volume, autoplay and channel defaults are configurable per server on the dashboard.
- If playback ever stalls:
/leavethen/playagain re-establishes the connection.
